FEATURES

Search by features...

The 15 minute walk allows you to browse the shops on the way to the lifts in the morning; picking up a sweet-treat from the patisserie or splurging on a new ski jacket.

Furnished in a traditional style, Petit Abri’s 10 bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms and many rooms have stunning snowscape views with mountainous backdrops.

Public areas of the hotel are a mix of exposed stone and pine, mixing bright furnishings with cosy colours leaving you ready to relax and enjoy a drink at the bar before, or after dinner.

The spa area is in a separate building next to the hotel (so wrap up warm while you walk over) which includes a Jacuzzi bath, sauna, steam room and a relaxation zone with herbal teas. Treatments are available on request and payable locally.

Petit Albri has one Suite in a separate building that is ideal for families, containing a small kitchenette and dining table, sofa bed and balcony. A separate double bedroom with en-suite bathroom is just down the corridor, and you’ll need to head outside and back into the hotel for breakfast and dinner each day.

This is a delightful little hotel. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival. The rooms are a reasonable size and very clean. The bathroom, which has a shower rather than a bath, is clean with an excellent shower, with plenty of hot water.
Breakfast is a buffet, with perhaps, the slowest toaster in the world! However the food is great with lots of choice and plentiful.
The bar area is comfortable with a lovely log fire. The bar has nibbles and serves tea and coffee as well as other drinks.
We drove out and parking is right outside the hotel. The hotel is set back from the main road into Champoluc on the outskirts of the town. It would be a bit of a hike in the mornings if Ski2 didn’t operate such a good “taxi” service. The hotel also offers transport to the ski deposit in the mornings.
Evening meals are chosen the previous evening, it is a five course meal and the quality is very acceptable. They were more than happy to accommodate our fussy Grandsughter’s tastes and cook fresh, plain pasta just for her!
Summing up a perfectly comfortable hotel ideal for a ski holiday.

Just as it says on the tin: a good value family run 3* hotel. Very helpful staff, excellent food, clean room with good ensuite. Not a luxury hotel but a very pleasant stay. A brisk and pleasant 10+ minute walk to the lifts (although you can ask to be picked up by the minivan): you wouldn’t want to be wearing boots or carrying skis but you don’t have to as they can all be left near the lifts!

I stayed with my three children and we loved it. The family running the hotel are very friendly and go out of their way to help. We enjoyed the home cooked meals and appreciated their flexibility in offering just plain pasta and cheese for a fussy eater. It was great to have a kettle in the room and make a cup of tea. We’ll be back.

This was my fifth time with Ski2 in Champoluc but the first time in the Petit Abri. I was staying with my nephew and his fiancee and we all found it excellent.

It had a lovely Italian atmosphere and as described definitely had a family-run feel about it. Piera the owner was pleasant, knowledgeable & could not have been more helpful.

The rooms were comfortable with lovely en suite and balconies. The food was excellent……5 courses and superb value wines, especially the local d’Aosta wines.

We arrived late (really late! e.g. 01.30 and 03.45!) and were left specific instructions from Piera and Frederica as to how to get in. We also left early (06.30) and breakfast was still provided.

The only (slight) negative was the distance from the centre of town (and the lift). Frankly a bit far to walk in ski boots with or without skis. However the Ski2 storage at the bottom of the slopes AND their willingness to give us a lift if/when required more than compensated for this.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Not top of the range (but it is not advertised as such) but excellent value & comfortable with lovely food.

Many thanks to Piera and her excellent staff (especially Frederica).

Incidentally even though I have a rudimentary knowledge of Italian, it didn’t matter as the staff spoke excellent English!

We returned to the Petit Abri in January this year with our friends, Jack and Pauline Coull, to a warm welcome from owners and staff. This was our third visit in three years and the hotel has maintained its relaxed family atmosphere with wonderful food and high standard of cleanliness in all areas including the excellent spa facility. We all look forward to our next holiday in Champolouc and the Petit Abri.

Very pleasant and charming little hotel with a very attentive staff.
Needless to say that I already miss that place(the hotel but also that peaceful resort of Champoluc) and I am already looking forward to come back but this time with the rest of the family!!!

A truly family run hotel whose owners are totally happy to do anything for you – and always with a smile. Not big or lavish rooms but perfectly comfortable and lovely and quiet away from the bustle of the centre of the town. This would be a perfect place to bring young children as the restaurant is very children friendly but equally we were happy as an adult party to sit downstairs and play cards.

We had most enjoyable week at this hotel.Good size room, spotlessly clean, The owners and staff were extremely pleasent and helpful. The meals were excellent and varied, great italian “home” cooking. The new sauna, steam room and jacuzzi is a high standard addition and a wonderful place to relax after a hard days skiing. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Petit Abri is a good hotel run by two very friendly and enthusiastic sisters. The hotel is very child friendly and welcoming and the staff were all helpful. Our room was clean and a good size. Food was good too. Small bar /lounge area, so probably suits smaller groups. About a 10 min walk into the chair lift, but the walk is easy and pleasant.

I stayed with my 16 year old step-granddaughter. The food was delicious, the breakfasts perfect and the family who ran it were extremely helpful. The rooms are small but comfortable and immaculately clean. The shower was great and there was plenty of hot water. It is a ten minute walk from the bottom of the ski lift but that is not a problem.

Very comfortable and friendly family hotel. Situated out of town but we;; serviced by Ski2.We were there when it was underoccupied, so I can imagine the small lounge/bar could get a bit crouded.
The food was excellent though no effort was made to accomodate vegetarians.
There was no hot water for a day or two – it happens!

The hotel owners are excellent and very accomodating. Rooms are good. However 2 of our party did not eat pork and the alternative meals that were offered were a disgrace. On one night we were offered cheese and tomato as a main course. This was very frustrating as we are not vegitarians.

pleasant family run hotel on the outskirts of the village. Very quiet hotel but the staff were very friendly and helpful. They were happy to try and accommodate any requests. Food was home cooked and breakfasts were good. Would stay there again but better as a couples hotel rather than solo traveler.

As a long-standing visitor to Champoluc I found my first visit to the Petit Abri contained everything I have come to know and love about the village. From the friendly welcome to the homely and relaxed atmosphere, the very comfortable bedroom and the delicious home-cooked meals I felt very much at home in the Petit Abri and am looking forward to my return visit.

We had a wonderful relaxed holiday with friendly staff and excellent value for meals which were varied and home cooked local food. Although we were concerned before we went about the walk to the ski deposit it was pleasant and easy. Our room was spacious and cosy and very well appointed.
